What is Art Therapy?

Art Therapy is a counselling process that uses art materials and art making to facilitate growth, exploration, enlightenment and understanding of emotions, behaviours and feelings.

An Allied Health profession Art Therapy uses psychological principals. At Bloom Art Therapy and Counselling we provide a containing safe space to explore individually or in group settings. Clients are encouraged to use art materials and the process of creating to express themselves in non verbal ways, connect with their emotions and a deeper sense of self.

Facilitated art making can allow a playfulness to emerge, the integration of past events and personal insights to form.

Empowerment, choice and control are all central to the Art Therapy process.
